What is Semi-Permanent Lip Blush?

A type of temporary lip tattoo very soft and natural which enhances the shape and shade of your lips by giving them a more defined shape and youthful tint. This lip tattoo brings back the colour to your lips and defines the borderline.

Lip Blush tattoo will last around 2-3 years and gradually fades and leaves your lips as it was before the treatment.  Your lips will look like you have lipstick on for the first 3 days, and soften as they heal to become a subtle, natural-looking lip tint in less than a week

Colour is adjustable base on the natural shade of your lip and what the goal colour is but we recommend always go with a natural shade/colour so you are able to add up or cover it up with a different shade of makeup as you wish.

Note: To make sure you are a good candidate for any of our services, please submit your complimentary consultation form here

How is the healing process?

Usually, the inserted pigment is very bright during the first 5 to 7 days then the shade or pigment lose up to 50% of their intensity. If you think that pigment is too bright, do not try to fade or remove it by yourself. Be patient and wait for 7 days until it fades away naturally. On average It takes about 4-7 days for lips to heal. In that time any swelling will fade and all dead skin and scabbing will be gone. The colour will soften over about 15 days as it completely sets in. Once you get your lip blush done, there’s really no down time. You can leave and go about your daily tasks and even drive yourself home however as we are working on the delicate area of lips, swelling and redness may occur for those who has very thin skin or have sensitive skin. The one thing you can’t do is eating hot or spicy foods or waering lipstick or even kissing for the first few days! You must avoid going to saunas or pools as well until they are fully healed. You may experience some scabbing as your lips healing, but it will likely be minimal. If you do have scabbing, do not pick it off. You should definitely avoid touching or rubbing your lips while they heal, so you don’t spread any germs or bacteria around the area.

How painful are these treatments?

The good news: there's numbing cream, so it won't hurt that bad. Pain during the treatment is relative. Scared clients usually feel stronger pain. In addition, with women, they report an increased sensitivity to pain during their menstrual cycle, so it is not recommended to do the treatment while ladies have their period.

How to be prepared for my treatments?

Before the treatment: Please exfoliate your lips 1-2 times weekly prior to your appointment and wear lip moisturizer every day to keep your lips hydrated & free of dead skin. If you have a history of cold sore you must contact your physician to be prescribed antiviral medication and get the permission to undergo this treatment. The skin should not be burnt, nor in recovery or regeneration process. The following treatments are not recommended before the treatment: • No Botox and fillers on treatment area 8 weeks prior to the treatment • Fruit or lactic acids OR use of Vitamin A/Retinol products around the lips • No chemical peel all over the face less than 2 weeks prior to treatment • Exposure to strong sunlight or tanning • No Coffee or Alcohol or food and drinks contain caffeine 24 hours prior to the treatment. Please avoid taking any types of pain killers before the apointment as well. • Wash your scalp the night before the treatment (not the day of) and make sure you don’t apply any oil on your hair. Scalp and hair must be clean and free of oils or hair products. • No workout or gym the day of treatment and for seven days after. Please Have this in mind your pictures will be taken or we may record a video. You can inform the technician if you prefer not to share a picture of your full face.

How do I know which shape or shade to choose?

Your permanet makeup technician will help you to choose a proper shape and colour for your lips. we will pre-draw the shape and adjust the shade and confirm it with you before we start the treatment.

What to expect after lip blush treatment?

Your lips will go through several phases during the healing cycle.

Days 1-4:
The pigment will appear very sharp and bright. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin, and has not yet settled in completely. The color of the pigment will soften gradually. Do not be alarmed if you see any redness, sweling or minor bruises or body fluid, some ppl with sensetivity might experience that.

Days 5-7:
Once the healing of the skin starts taking place, it will look like dandruff flakes or dry skin. This might give you the impression that the pigment is fading too quickly, however, this is just superficial colour and dry skin being naturally removed from your eyelids.

Days 8-12:
Your lips may look as though the pigment has completely faded – do not panic – take a deep breath and trust the process ;)

Days 14-28:
Your lip blush may still look a little patchy or uneven, but the pigment will start to “reappear” as the pigment settles and the healing continues. You may get your touch-up/ perfecting procedure done to complete the look of the liner. Touch up must be booked 4-10 week after the initial session. NO SOONER than 4 weeks or Not later than 10 weeks.

What aftercare should I follow?

Day 1-7 or until all scabs fall off Keep the area as moisturizing as possible with the balm that we will provide you and avoid any UV or sun exposure. Do not use aggressive movement/ manipulation of the skin- be gentle. Make sure your hands are clean before touching your eyes. DO NOT PICK SCABS OFF. they are healing, TRUST THE PROCESS. No shower stream over your face. Wash face CAREFULLY with a washcloth or cleansing wipes, avoid treatment area. AVOIDED FOR 10 DAYS POST PROCEDURE
• Sweating
• Exercising
• Practicing sports
• Swimming
• Hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi
• Sun tanning or salon tanning
• Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/ or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic Acid on the face or neck
• Picking, peeling or scratching of the treatment area. You will cause scarring of the area or removal of the pigment if you pick or peel scabs prematurely.
• Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris – now is not the time!
• Touching of the area except for when cleaning and applying the post-care ointment (if it is advice) with a cotton swab
• Do not use any cleansers or facial products of any kind, over the area for at least 10 days.

*Before rinsing your body or taking a bath to apply a thick layer of ointment to protect your lips from water. During the shower keep your face away from the hot steam or shower head and remove the ointment gently after the shower. Take a bath if it’s possible.

Please NOTE: Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days post procedure. However, experience has shown that by following these after-care instructions, these symptoms may quickly disappear. Touch-ups and/or correction of the shape-design is recommended only after 4-10 weeks. Please make sure to book your complimentary touch up ASAP!
